Terms of Use

Devchaos is operated by the team behind GGDB as a sub-site of the GGDB platform. In these terms “Devchaos”, “we” and “us” refer to that operator, and “the Service” means the Devchaos website and everything it offers.

You may use the Service only if you can form a binding contract with us and are at least 16 years old (or the age of digital consent where you live, if higher). Using the Service on behalf of a company or studio means you have the authority to bind it to these terms.

You are responsible for your account and everything done with it. Keep your password private, use a real email address you control and tell us promptly if you believe your account has been compromised. One person, one account — automated or bulk-created accounts are not allowed.

You keep ownership of everything you post — projects, images, text, polls, comments and profile details. So that the Service can work, you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, display, reproduce and distribute your content on Devchaos and GGDB, including in feeds, search results, previews and share cards. This licence ends when you delete the content or your account, except for copies that other users have already shared and for backups kept for a limited time.

You are responsible for having the rights to what you post and for making sure it does not break the law or the Community Rules. We may remove content that does.

Devchaos connects people; it is not a party to the agreements you make with them. We do not employ, vet or guarantee any user, project, payment or revenue share, and we are not responsible for the outcome of a collaboration. Put important agreements — ownership, credits, compensation — in writing between yourselves before the work starts.

Don't use the Service to break the law, infringe anyone's rights, harass people, send spam, distribute malware, collect other users' data or interfere with the Service's security or performance. Don't access it with automated tools except through features we provide for that purpose. The Community Rules are part of these terms.

The Service itself — its design, code, name, logo and the content we create — belongs to us or our licensors and is protected by copyright and trademark law. These terms don't give you any right to use the Devchaos or GGDB names or logos without our written permission.

We may remove content, restrict features, suspend or terminate accounts that break these terms or the rules, or when we must do so to protect users or comply with the law. Where reasonable we will tell you why. You can delete your account at any time from Settings → Danger zone.

Devchaos is evolving. We may add, change or remove features, and we may suspend the Service for maintenance. We will try to give notice of significant changes, but we cannot promise that any particular feature will always be available.

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, availability, accuracy of content posted by users or non-infringement. Content posted by users reflects their views, not ours.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, loss of profits, data or goodwill, or for any dispute between users, arising from your use of the Service. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

We may update these terms from time to time. When the changes are material we will announce them on the Service or by email before they take effect. Continuing to use Devchaos after that date means you accept the updated terms.

These terms are governed by the laws of the country in which the operator of GGDB is established, and disputes are subject to the courts of that country, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer protection you enjoy where you live.
